Tushar Dhawal

Tushar Dhawal was born in Munger district of Bihar; grew up in Bokaro Steel City, Jharkhand; studied in St. Xavier's School, Bokaro Steel City and later graduated with Sociology Honours from Hindu College, Delhi University in 1993. He had Masters in Sociology from Delhi School of Economics and joined joined the Indian Civil Services in 1996. Tushar is regarded as one of the acclaimed poets in contemporary Hindi literature. He has published two anthologies Pahar Yah Bepahar Ka (पहर यह बेपहर का) and Ye Awazen Kuchh Kahtee Hain (ये आवाजें कुछ कहती हैं) which is a collection of 18 long poems.Tusha has published 200 poems so far in leading Hindi literary journals, blogs and websites.He has recently completed translation of Marathi and English poems by Dilip Chitre in two volumes. The book, under publication, is titled "Magic Muhalla". As an artist (painter) he has devised a technique whereby he paints with bubbles of colours; held 4 exhibitions of his paintings and intends to hold a solo show this year. He has been actively associated with Hindi theatre and worked as an actor and is also a landscape photographer. Presently he works as Addl.Commissioner of Income Tax and has, just a few days ago, been transferred from Mumbai to Kolkata.
